While supporting the Foundation's activities, Glico also provides subsidies to pediatric research programs and related activities to contribute toward enhancing the health of mothers and children. Our initiatives cover a wide range of areas such as culture and sports to facilitate communication with consumers in many different ways. Development of high quality products to enhance public well-being, this is what Glico strives to contribute to society by communicating to everyone the joy and preciousness of life through our products and activities.

Riichi Ezaki, our founder, investing his own assets established the Foundation in 1934, with support and advice from many prominent figures at the time, which included Dr. Umetaro Suzuki, who discovered vitamin B1; Jigoro Kano, founder of the current style of judo and the first head of the Kodokan; and Yayoi Yoshioka, founder of Tokyo Women's Medical University. To achieve its goal of contributing to enhancement of health of mothers and children, the Foundation provides subsidies to pediatric research programs to improve children's overall health and prevent diseases. The Foundation's activities also include publication of "Futaba," a magazine all about children's health, and organization of symposiums focusing on children's health and education. Since the start of its subsidy program in 1988, the Foundation has provided over 200 subsidies, amounting to 3 hundred million yen.
