Conducting surveys and extensive research to promptly understand consumer needs, Glico Foods offers a wide range of products to meet consumers' ever-diversifying demands for foods that are tastier, healthier and more convenient. While completely devoted to enhancing the tastes and functions of our products, we also strive to offer safe and reliable products that are selected by customers with confidence.
In the Processed Meat Products Division, development activities are underway to provide quality processed meat products such as hams, sausages and frozen food products, focusing thoroughly on the Glico Philosophy, "A Wholesome Life in the Best of Taste." Our product line includes the "Morning series," which meets customers' needs for convenient and wholesome items for each day's breakfast, an important meal to prepare us for the day's activities. The aim of our development activities is to help customers have more enjoyable and wholesome meals in everyday life.
The Food Materials Division provides proteins, starches, food additives (colors, quality enhancing substances, alcohol) and other food ingredients. This division also conducts development and dissemination of rice powder products in addition to development of ingredients for health-related food products.

Providing safe and reliable products is an essential means of achieving Glico's goal, "A Wholesome Life in the Best of Taste." Glico Foods has established its own quality assurance system in both the Processed Meat Products and the Food Materials Divisions to conduct thorough supervision from purchase of ingredients to delivery to consumers so as to ensure the highest product safety.
The Processed Meat Products Division acquired certification from the then Ministry of Health and Welfare for the US FDA's Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) program for all manufacturing sites in Japan when the Ministry began officially issuing HACCP certificates in 1996. In accordance with the program, quality management standards were designed and applied for critical points in all processes from delivery of ingredients to production and shipment of products. Tests are conducted according to established standards and all results are recorded and used to minimize substandard products.
The Food Materials Division outsources manufacturing of most products overseas to achieve the best balance between cost and quality. Supervisors and experienced manufacturing experts are sent to overseas production sites to thoroughly check production lines and quality assurance systems so as to ensure high product safety.

Glico Foods has been developing and producing products using rice powder for more than a decade, focusing on development and promotion of breads made from rice powder instead of wheat flour. Glico Foods will continue working with this business because we feel it can contribute to local communities by enhancing domestic consumption of domestic agricultural products.
