To ensure safe and high quality products, our Quality Assurance Department takes the lead in managing risks in Glico's manufacturing process. The Department is responsible for coordinating quality assurance (QA) activities at respective divisions as part of an overall QA system that covers all manufacturing stages from design and production to sales, advertisement, and delivery of Glico products to consumers.
Our in-house quality management activities also include nutrient composition analysis of products, hygiene inspections and tests to check for residual pesticides, allergens, genetically modified ingredients and illegal additives, which are all part of our efforts to ensure higher quality and safety. Regarding production management, Glico has implemented hygiene management and manufacturing process management programs at all production sites. Glico independently developed these programs in accordance with the US FDA's Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program and ISO 9000 series requirements.

Operating based on our corporate philosophy, "Wholesome Life in the Best of Taste," we understand that one of our obligations as a manufacturing company is to minimize the environmental impacts of our business activities. To fulfill this, Glico strives to reduce environmental loads in all our business activities, including research, design, production and sales. For example, initiatives are underway to expand "zero emission" programs that have been successfully implemented at all Glico factories and to implement them at the Head Office, sales departments and throughout the rest of the Company. Efforts are also being made to introduce environmental conservation programs such as energy savings, ecological driving, and implementing co-generation systems.
To efficiently operate and manage these measures based on our company-wide management system, Ezaki Glico and all Glico manufacturing subsidiaries together have acquired ISO 14001 certification, an international environmental management system standard.

Packaging for snacks and chocolates, such as plastic bags and paper boxes, become unnecessary after consuming and are disposed of as waste.
Since such packaging and containers account for 60% volume, or 25% weight, of household wastes, increased attention is being paid to reducing, recycling and reusing packages and containers.
Responding to these social movements, to deliver Glico products to consumers in safe and reliable packages, Glico devotes daily efforts to ensure packages are as light, thin and simple as possible without compromising their quality to protect and hold the food.
